Moving a Domain Between Hover Accounts (Domain Push)

A domain push moves ownership of a domain from one Hover account to another. This article explains how the process works, what Hover needs from you, and what to expect from start to finish.

What Is a Domain Push?

When you move a domain between two Hover accounts, the process is called a domain push. To verify ownership before the move, Hover sends a unique PIN to the primary email address on the sending account.

Note: A domain push only applies to transfers between two accounts within Hover. For transfers to a different registrar, see Transferring Your Domain Away From Hover.

Before you begin

  • Access to the primary email address on your Hover account. Hover sends the verification PIN there, so make sure you can receive email at that address before starting.
  • Access to the receiving Hover account. The receiving account needs to be verified as well. [CONTENT NEEDED: confirm exactly what verifying the receiving account involves, since the original article doesn't specify.]

Step 1: Contact Hover

Email help@hover.com or call 1-866-731-6556 and let us know you'd like to move a domain between accounts.

Step 2: Verify Your Identity

Hover emails a unique, one-time PIN to the primary email contact on the sending account. Provide that PIN back to Hover to confirm you're the account holder.

Step 3: Confirm the Destination Account

Tell Hover which account should receive the domain. Once both accounts are verified, support can move the domain for you right away.
