Regularly changing your Hover account password is a good security habit. This article walks you through updating your password from within your Hover account, plus the password requirements you'll need to meet.
Password requirements
Your new password must meet all of the following:
- A minimum of 14 characters
- At least one uppercase letter and one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
Tip: You can also change your password by requesting a password reset email instead of signing in first — see Signing In to Your Hover Account.
Before you begin
- Access to your two-factor authentication method: you'll need to sign in using your current 2FA method (email code or authenticator app) before you can reach account settings.
- A new password that meets the requirements above.
Step 1: Update your password
- Sign in to your Hover control panel using your current two-factor authentication method.
- Select Settings from the navigation bar.
- Find Password under the Security section, and select Edit.
- Enter your new password and select Save changes.
Once saved, you'll see a confirmation that your password has been changed.
Next steps
- Review your other security settings: see Hover security standards for an overview of all the account protections available to you.
- Enable two-step sign in if you haven't already: see Enabling two-step sign in on your Hover account.
