Verify Your Hover Account Email Address

Email verification confirms that an email address on your Hover account is active and belongs to you. It's required when you create a new account, and it's an important security feature that helps Hover assist you more effectively. This article explains how to verify a new or existing account email address and how to tell whether an address is already verified.

Note: This article covers email address verification. If you're looking for the PIN code process Hover support uses to confirm your identity during a support conversation, see Verifying Your Identity With Hover Support instead.

Verified vs. unverified emails

An unverified email address shows a gray checkmark next to it. A verified address shows a blue checkmark. Verifying an address confirms it's active and legitimate, and lets Hover support assist you more effectively.

Before you begin

  • Have access to the email inbox you're verifying: You'll need to open the verification email sent to that address and enter the code it contains.

Step 1: Verify the email on a new account

  1. Sign up for a Hover account.
  2. Hover automatically sends an account verification email to the address you entered on the signup page. The email contains a six-digit code used to confirm and verify your account.

Step 2: Verify an email on an existing account

  1. Sign in to your Hover control panel using your chosen method of two-step sign-in.
  2. Select Settings to view your account and backup email addresses.
  3. Select Edit next to the address you want to verify, then send the verification email.
  4. Open the verification email and enter the six-digit code to confirm and verify the address.
