Learn how to connect your Hover domain to your Contra portfolio. If you received a Contra voucher, your domain connection is automatic — no setup required.
For everyone else, Hover offers a one-click connection tool that makes the process simple and fast.
If You Redeemed a Contra Voucher
When you redeem your Contra voucher through Hover:
- Your domain is automatically connected to your Contra portfolio.
- All necessary DNS records are created for you.
- An SSL certificate is generated automatically — no action needed.

Connecting a Domain to Contra
- Sign in to your Hover control panel using your chosen method of 2FA.
- Click Domains. If you have more than one domain, you will see a list of your domains here. Click the domain name that you'd like to use with Connect.
- For the Connect feature to function correctly, the domain must use Hover's nameservers, ns1.hover.com and ns2.hover.com.
Note: Before making any nameservers changes, ensure you're no longer using any services like email or third-party email hosting linked to the current DNS manager.
- Click the Connect tab.
- Connect a domain by choosing Select next to Contra.
- Each host provides step-by-step directions to help you connect your domain to their service. Once you’ve completed those steps, click Connect.
- You’ll see a confirmation message when your connection is successful.
- DNS updates can take up to 30 minutes to take effect.
- To view the records added automatically during the connection, go to the DNS tab.
Troubleshooting
- Connection still says “Not Connected”?
Wait up to 5 minutes and click Check Status again. - Already connected another host?
Remove any existing A or CNAME records pointing elsewhere. - Still having issues?
