Titan Email FAQ

Hover is introducing Titan Email, a new email product that's replacing Hosted Email for new purchases. This article answers the questions customers ask most often about the change, pricing, setup, and billing. For a full walkthrough of what's new, see Introducing Titan Email: What's New for Hover Customers.

About Titan Email

What is Titan Email?

Titan Email is a modern email product built for small businesses, with webmail, mobile apps, and business tools. It's replacing Hosted Email as the email product Hover sells to new customers.

When does Titan Email launch?

Titan Email launches October 6, 2026. Titan Email will be available to all new customers, existing Hover customers who do not currently have Hosted Email, and any existing customers who purchase new domains.

Why did Hover switch from Hosted Email to Titan?

Hover's previous Hosted Email product is aging, and Titan offers a more modern experience — including webmail similar to what you'd find from major providers, mobile apps, and ongoing feature updates. Titan is already used by other domain and hosting companies, so it's a proven product for small businesses.

Do I have to switch if I already have Hosted Email?

No. If you already have Hosted Email, it keeps working exactly as it does today — you're not required to do anything. Hosted Email stops being offered to new customers once Titan Email launches on October 6, 2026, but there's no deadline yet for existing customers to move. If you'd like to move to Titan Email voluntarily, see the question below on migrating your mailbox.

What happened to the $5/year email forwarding product?

The standalone email forwarding product is being discontinued when Titan Email launches. If you want forwarding-style functionality going forward, it's included as part of the Pro Titan Email plan. See Titan Email Plans Compared for details.

Plans and pricing

What plans are available?

Titan Email launches with three plans: Pro, Premium, and Ultra, each with more mailbox storage and features than the last. See Titan Email Plans Compared: Pro, Premium & Ultra for a full breakdown.

How much does Titan Email cost?

Launch pricing

PlanPrice
Pro$36/year
Premium$60/year
Ultra$120/year

Is monthly billing available?

Not at launch. Titan Email is billed annually only. Monthly billing may be added in the future.

Buying and setting up Titan Email

How do I buy Titan Email?

You can add Titan Email when you register a new domain, or add it to a domain you already own from your Hover control panel. See How to Purchase Titan Email for step-by-step instructions.

How do I set up my mailbox after I buy it?

Once you've purchased Titan Email, you'll set a username and password for your new mailbox from the Hover control panel. See Setting Up Your Titan Mailbox After Purchase.

Where do I check my email?

Titan Email has its own webmail, separate from Hover's existing webmail login. See Accessing Titan Webmail from Hover for every way to get there.

Can I move my existing Hosted Email mailbox to Titan Email?

Yes, and it's optional. Titan Email has a built-in import tool to bring your existing mail across, and switch your domain over only once that import is complete, so your Hosted Email keeps working normally in the meantime. Any unused prepaid time on your Hosted Email plan is applied as credit toward your new Titan Email plan.

Note: Migration is rolling out gradually after the October 6, 2026 launch, so it may not be available immediately.

Does Titan Email have a desktop or mobile app?

Yes, Titan Email provides native applications for both desktop and mobile devices. You can find more information, as well as the download area, by visiting the Titan Desktop and Mobile App page.

Billing and managing your subscription

Is auto-renew on by default?

Yes. All Titan Email subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn auto-renew off in your Hover control panel.

What happens if my payment fails?

If a renewal payment fails, your mailbox is not cancelled immediately. Hover will attempt to process the charge for three days, during which time your email service remains fully functional. If the payment remains unsuccessful after this period, your mailbox will be suspended on day 4. You will then have a 4-day suspension window, during which you can view your existing mail, though you will be unable to send or receive messages. If the payment is not resolved by day 7, the mailbox is deleted.

Please note that you can reactivate your mailbox at any point before the final deletion by successfully processing the payment. If your mailbox is deleted, you have a 30-day grace period during which you can contact support to have the account and its data restored.

Why was my mailbox suspended, and can I get it reinstated?

A mailbox is usually suspended for one of two reasons: a failed renewal payment (see above), or a violation of Titan's acceptable use policy — for example, spam, fraud, or phishing activity. For a policy-related suspension, Titan reviews and controls reinstatement rather than Hover, since Titan operates the mail service itself. Contact Hover Support and they'll follow up with Titan on your behalf. For Titan's full Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Use, see Titan's own help center.

What happens to my email if my domain expires?

Titan Email keeps working on its own schedule, separate from your domain — but if the domain itself expires, its DNS records go away, and that stops your mailbox from sending or receiving mail. You can still log in and see your existing email, contacts, and calendar; it stays in a read-only state until the domain is renewed and DNS is restored. Once you renew or re-register the domain, Titan Email reconnects and mail starts flowing again.

Note: This is different from a mailbox being deleted outright (for example, after a failed renewal with no payment). A deleted mailbox has a 30-day window during which it can still be restored with all its data — after that, it's gone for good.

How do I cancel Titan Email?

You cancel by deleting the mailbox(es) on your domain from the Hover control panel. Deleting your last mailbox on a domain means that domain's Titan Email subscription won't renew. Deleting a mailbox takes effect immediately — you'll lose access to that mailbox's email, contacts, and calendar, so make sure you don't need them before confirming.

Note: Cancelling doesn't refund time you've already paid for — Titan Email doesn't offer refunds as standard policy.

Can I downgrade to a cheaper plan, or reduce how many mailboxes I'm paying for?

Not directly through the control panel today — tier downgrades and reducing your paid mailbox count both go through Hover Support rather than a self-serve option. Contact Hover Support and they'll take care of it for you. Either change takes effect right away, with billing catching up at your next renewal (no refund for the unused portion already paid).

See Titan Email Billing & Cancellation for full details on renewals, upgrades, and cancelling.

Getting help

Do I need to contact Titan directly for support?

No — always start with Hover Support. Hover handles Titan Email support for its customers directly and escalates internally if needed. You don't need a separate Titan account, and you shouldn't need to contact Titan yourself.
