Find Email Headers for Hover Email Troubleshooting

Email headers contain the tracking information for an individual email, including the path it took as it traveled through mail servers, time stamps, IP addresses, and sender and recipient details. This article shows you how to get the full headers for an email in Hover webmail and in several common third-party email clients, so you can share them when troubleshooting sending, bouncing, or spam issues with Hover Support.

Why You Might Need Email Headers

The information in email headers helps Hover Support troubleshoot and resolve email issues such as messages not sending, bouncing, or being incorrectly marked as spam.

Before you begin

  • Know which email service you use. Instructions differ depending on whether you use Hover's webmail or a separate email client such as Outlook, Gmail, Thunderbird, or Apple Mail.
  • Have the email you want to investigate open or accessible. You'll open this specific message to view its headers.

Step 1: Get Headers From Hover Webmail

  1. Log in to webmail. Note: Former VistaPrint customers use the Enhanced Email Cluster B server instead.
  2. Select the email in question and choose Details.
  3. Select All headers. The complete message header appears on the screen.
  4. Copy the header text and paste it into your reply to Hover Support.
