Connecting your domain to a host using Connect

Connect is a feature within the Hover control panel that easily points your domain to particular web hosts.

This feature will automatically add the required DNS records needed by your host.

Compatible hosting providers

Several hosting providers are compatible with using Hover's Connect feature.

Connecting a domain

  1. Sign in to your Hover control panel using your chosen method of 2FA.

  2. Click Domains. If you have more than one domain, you will see a list of your domains here. Click the domain name that you'd like to use with Connect.

  3. For the Connect feature to function correctly, the domain must use Hover's nameservers, ns1.hover.com and ns2.hover.com.
    Note: Before making any nameservers changes, ensure you're no longer using any services like email or third-party email hosting linked to the current DNS manager.

  4. Click the Connect tab.

  5. Connect a domain by choosing Select the desired service from the list of providers.

  6. Each host will have step-by-step directions to connect a domain to their service. When you're done completing the steps, click Connect.

  7. You will see the following to confirm your connection was successful. It is important to note that DNS updates will typically take 30 minutes to take effect.

  8. The DNS tab will illustrate the records added automatically during the connection.

Disconnecting a domain

You can easily remove a web host connection that has been previously set up.

  1. Sign in to your Hover control panel using your chosen method of 2FA.

  2. Click Domains. If you have more than one domain, you will see a list of your domains here. Click the domain name that you'd like to disconnect from Connect.

  3. Select the Connect tab from the top navigation menu, followed by the X within the domains connection section.

  4. From the deletion confirmation popup, select Disconnect.
